Lindsey Horner is an American jazz double-bassists. Horner studied double bass at the Juilliard School of Music as well as musicology and philosophy at Trinity College (Dublin). Horner is one of the more versatile musicians in jazz and modern music. He has most often been heard with musicians on the cutting edge, recording and performing with artists such as Greg Osby, Bill Frisell, Bob Previte, Dave Douglas, Don Byron and Muhal Richard Abrams. Lindsey co-leads the band Sleeping Bee with singer and guitarist Timothy Hill. He has deep roots in Irish music and is currently a member of fiddle master Eileen Iver’s band. Lindsey has toured and recorded extensively with singer/songwriter Susan McKeown including two unique duo CD’s, ‘Mighty Rain’ and a perennially well-received holiday / winter set entitled ‘Through the Bitter Frost and Snow’. He has also collaborated with late Scottish fiddler Johnny Cunningham and traditional Irish music legend Andy Irvine.

In a uniquely satisfying musical synthesis, singer/composer Timothy Hill weaves a natural purity of voice with threats of otherworldly abstract sound, blending seamlessly into a style that transcends genre. Hill’s musical explorations span folk, jazz, world music, contemporary classical and improvisation. With David Hykes and the Harmonic Choir, he has been a pioneer in the art of harmonic singing, prompting The New York Times critic Robert Palmer to praise Hill as "a virtuoso of the Tibetan chanting technique.” Hill's wish to deepen his understanding of music brought him to the study of Indian classical music with Sheila Dhar and Pandit Vijay Kichlu, and music in the teaching of Gurdjieff with John Pentland and others. The broad scope and genre-crossing nature of his work has been deeply influenced by a unique musical friendship with pianist Keith Jarrett. An active teacher, Hill has been a visiting lecturer at the Bard College Conservatory Graduate Vocal Arts Program, New York University, Dartmouth College, University of Minnesota and others.
