19th Season Line-up

Sunday - October 20, 2019 – 4  pm       American Organ Recital

Welcome back, Concertgoers!  Join organists Shea Velloso and Christopher Deibert as they open the 2019-2020 concert season with a good old-fashioned Americana organ recital.  This concert/sing-a-long event will highlight the power and majesty of the Saint Mary Church Jardine and Sons 1883 pipe organ.  A wine and cheese reception will follow the concert.


Sunday - November 17, 2019 – 4  pm       Quinception-Woodwinds Quintet

Calling all chamber music fans!  The Quinception Woodwinds Quintet features Jenny Cline (flute), Nicholas Gatto (oboe), Kevin Dayton (clarinet), Liz Rosa (bassoon), and Evan Young (french horn).  Critics have hailed their performances as “lustrously musical,” and “sheer musical brilliance.”  They will perform works by Franz Danzi, Amanda Harberg, Eugene Bozza, Arturo Marquez, and others.  This family-friendly concert will be followed by a Meet-the-Artists reception.

Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra & Chorus
Christopher M.C. Deibert - Conductor

A Saint Mary Church tradition!  Come join the South Amboy/Sayreville community for the Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra and Choral Society’s presentation of George Frederik Handel’s timeless oratorio, Messiah.  Under the direction of Maestro Christopher M. C. Deibert, conductor, the Advent/Christmas portion of this work will be performed in its entirety, along with excerpts from the second and third parts.  Don’t miss this delightful candlelit concert, set in beautiful Victorian-gothic architectural surroundings.    

Sunday - January 19, 2020 - 4  pm       Shea Velloso - Organ Recital

Shea Velloso has performed recitals throughout New Jersey and New York City. He has appeared in concert on the national public radio show "Pipedreams" and on Metuchen Television. As Director of Music at United Methodist Church at Milltown, he is the organist, director of the church's three choirs, and is responsible for planning the church's concert series, Music & Meditation for Lent series, and Advent Noonday Worship & Recital Series.

Saturday - March 14, 2020 - 7  pm       Sara McCabe & Merynda Adams - Irish Folk Music

An encore performance!  Join Irish folk singer Sara McCabe and harpist Merynda Adams for a special Saint Patrick’s Day celebration concert event.  One reviewer wrote, “Sara is an outstanding vocalist… her scholarly approach to Irish music suggests a labor of love… her audiences love her…”  Described by the Newark Star Ledger as having "played the harp with color and great facility," Ms. Adams is a 1994 winner of the Artists International Competition and the Goldblatt Award. She is often heard in area churches, including the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart and St. Patrick's Cathedral. Her newly established recital series, "Chamber Music for Charity," presents works for harp and various instruments to benefit area charities.  

Sunday - May 17, 2020 - 4  pm Twelfth Annual      Mozart Festival

The Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra

MASM is pleased to present its final concert of the season - The Saint Mary Chamber Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Christopher M. C. Deibert.  The SMCO will perform3 major works by  Mozart, including two symphonies and a major concerto.  Come and help us toast the middle of springtime with this unparalleled music.  A celebratory wine and cheese reception will follow the concert.
